The David Wills House :: Visit

We invite you to visit this world class museum in the heart of the historic district in downtown Gettysburg. You will discover what it was like for the Wills family at the center of the battle's aftermath.

Learn how this town’s brave citizens recovered from the devastation left by the battle of Gettysburg, July 1-3, 1863. Experience the creation of Soldier’s National Cemetery through the eyes of David Wills. Celebrate the everlasting legacy of President Abraham Lincoln’s famous stay in a small town in America to deliver his immortal words, the Gettysburg Address.

This state of the art museum features five galleries, two 15-minute informational films, the recreated law office of David Wills and the Lincoln bedroom, the room in which the President put the finishing touches on the Gettysburg Address.
